Alexander Zverev has secured his place in the last 16 of the French Open after a thrilling victory over David Goffin in a four-hour and 14-minute marathon match on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old German, who had previously defeated Rafael Nadal in an epic five-set clash, rallied from a double break down in the fifth set to beat the 26th-seeded Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
Zverev, the fourth seed, will now face either Karen Khachanov or Andrey Rublev in the fourth round as he aims to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the fifth time in his career.
