2 Massive Cruise Ships Collide

Carnival Cruise Ships Collide in Mexican Port

Incident Leaves Passengers Injured

Two Carnival cruise ships collided in the port of Mexico on Friday morning.

The Carnival Glory and the Carnival Legend collided at around 8:30 a.m. local time. The Glory was departing the port while the Legend was arriving. The Legend was able to return to the port under its own power, but the Glory had to be towed back.

There were no reports of any serious injuries, but several passengers on both ships reported minor injuries. The passengers were treated by medical staff on board the ships.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. Carnival Cruise Lines said in a statement that it is "deeply sorry" for the incident and that it is working to "determine the cause of the accident and take appropriate action."

The collision is the latest in a series of incidents involving Carnival Cruise Lines. In 2013, the Carnival Triumph was disabled for several days after a fire broke out on board. In 2012, the Carnival Dream was stranded at sea for several days after a mechanical failure.

Carnival Cruise Lines is one of the world's largest cruise operators. It operates a fleet of 25 ships that carry more than 10 million passengers each year.
